Guided Visualization Series – Relaxation

Visualization permits access to your subconscious, so it’s a powerful way to tap into your innate guidance system.

In this series of worksheets, you’ll find guided visualizations you can use to help you achieve your dreams in the following specific areas:

  • Confidence Building
  • Business Success
  • Prosperity
  • Your Life Purpose
  • Your Future Vision

Each one will take you on an imaginary journey. When you’re in a relaxed state, these images impress on your brain, and allow you to access your subconscious. This will help you uncover solutions and ways forward you haven’t consciously considered. It’s your intuition or inner-tuition that guides you.

There are no right or wrong outcomes so don’t expect any specific results. You may not even sense that anything’s happened right away, but then receive insights days or even weeks later. Never underestimate the power of the subconscious.

Most of the visualization exercises that follow last between 20-30 minutes, though you can take as long as you like. You might want to stay in a part of the ‘journey’ for longer than this and that’s up to you.

Each exercise will ask you to prepare and get relaxed before you start and will bring you back to full awareness by the end of the exercise.

Use only those visualizations that appeal to you at a specific time. Don’t force something that is clearly not for you right now.

Instructions

  • Choose your goal and the visualization that goes with it
  • Read it through so that you become familiar with the process before starting
  • Use a relaxation exercise to get into a receptive state
  • Record the guided process on your smartphone and play it while you relax or have someone read it to you.
  • DO NOT listen to recordings when driving or when you need to be alert
  • Don’t rush the reading. Allow pauses and plenty of time for you to appreciate where you are on the journey
  • Once you’ve finished your visualization, note down the information you have gained right away before you do anything else. In this state you’ll still have some connection with your subconscious. There are questions to answer at the end of each guided process or you can just write down anything surprising or enlightening that came up.

Relaxation Exercise

Before practicing any form of visualization, ensure that you won’t be disturbed by the phone, other people, or other distractions and that you’re in a place that you find safe, comfortable, warm and calming.

To access your subconscious, you need to be in a state of deep relaxation. You can use any method you like for this. Maybe you’re already used to meditating and have a preferred method, or you’re familiar with breathing exercises which take you to a place of deep relaxation. Whatever works, use it again if it’s simple and effortless for you. You can sit or lie down for a visualization exercise, whichever you find most comfortable.

If you don’t have a preferred method, here’s one that you can use:

Make sure that you are sitting comfortably in your chair or lying comfortably on the floor. Close your eyes. Become aware of your breathing and let it drop down into your abdomen. Concentrate on your in-breath, and every time you inhale, imagine you are breathing in white light. This white light brings you a sense of confidence and positivity and flows through your whole body illuminating you from within. When you exhale, be aware of breathing out all your negative feelings and negative thoughts and let them float away like balloons.

If you have any thoughts that intervene, don’t fight them. Let them pass lightly through your mind like clouds and away into the air. Then bring your attention back again to your breathing.

You’re breathing more slowly now and more profoundly. Your body is now full of the white light and it’s radiating out of you, wrapping you in a sense of well-being.

You are now ready to begin your chosen visualization.
